How to return to there from here, part 6
Ruth 1: 6-14
V11-13 “But Naomi said, “Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands? Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for m if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the Lord’s hand has gone out against me!”
6. Returning isn’t a pleasure trip.
Naomi battled with her bitter state. She had nothing to offer, no more sons and she was too old. There was no hope.
The widow faced loneliness, abandonment and helplessness. Naomi wasn’t just grumbling, this was the truth, her life and the future was bleak. This wasn’t a return of victory. Her life from now on was going to be a struggle.
When you decide to become all that you can become you will at some point of that journey enter into a great struggle. It will be then when you will know whether you desire a pleasure –seeking trip or a problem – solving one.
