All of this is not some story-book. Christianity. It isn’t fiction it is fact. Perhaps some people belittle what you believe. They did in the generation of Peter.
“For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. He received honour and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.” (2 Peter 1 v 16-18)
Peter is stressing that they experienced Christ. The transfiguration of Jesus transformed them on the mountain.
Can you imagine what that experience did for them, especially years later as he writes this letter? When you have fallen facedown to the ground terrified in the presence of a supernatural God then you can face anything! You can face being flogged and put in prison. You can face being crucified upside down as Peter was or dying by the sword as was James (according to Church tradition) or like John being thrown into boiling oil (according to Tertullian). You can get through any fear because you have experienced the ultimate fear of being in the presence of the ultimate Power.
We need an experience of God that and His glory. Just as Jesus shone brightly we must also carry the glory of God in our lives. The world needs to see Jesus.
We need an experience of God’s voice. We need to hear His voice. The voice that gives approval of the Son and who He is. We need to stop talking meaningless and the trivial and speak the word of God given to us. The world needs a clear call from Him.

i like this because i have a belief that we cannot be transformed unless we hear his voice in His words
