I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL – with a letter from God.

The multiple sacrifices were set aside for the one. The setting aside was the destruction of the old system for this one act of obedience to the will of God.

God’s will is good, pleasing and perfect: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12 v 1-2)

God’s will, will prosper: “Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makeshis life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.” (Isaiah 53:10)

God’s will can be understood: “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (Ephesians 5 v 17)

God’s will is to be desired: “I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8)

“First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrews 10 v 8-10)

A letter from God

I AM is here right now. I am here. With you. I will be all that I will be. All that is needed for your life I AM.

I left everything to come. I lowered myself down into human form. I incarnated myself into flesh. The same as you. I know all there is to know about being you. I came for a reason. It was to end the performance religion. It never worked it only cried out for a better way. I came to abolish it completely. My prayer changed everything. ‘Here I am, I have come to do your will’ has made it possible for you to pray the same. I AM said HERE I AM.

So stop striving to please. My sacrifice made everything right for you. I was obedient to the Father and in doing so I have made you holy. It is not something that you have to keep achieving. It is a done deal. You are holy. You are right before God. There is nothing you can do about that. I won’t have to do this again. It is done. I did it once for you and that is it. The moment I cleansed you and came into your life by my Spirit that was it. The moment you surrendered your life to me that was it. It was declared in heaven and earth. Holy. Set apart for me. Mine. I did it once and I won’t do it again. It is once for all.

I have heard the many ‘Here I am’ prayers from you. None are wasted. Some are desperate prayers and some are based on failure. Lift up your eyes. Lift up your hands. Look to the power of the cross. Gaze on the empty tomb. See the ascended exalted Christ. Failure, sin, death has no power over your life. So let the HERE I AM prayers be glorious loud and filled with hope.

You are worried and troubled about many things; trust me with all your heart. I know how to rescue godly people from their trials. My Spirit helps you in your distress. Let me strengthen you with my glorious power. March on, dear soul, with courage! Never give up. I will help you. I will uphold you.

Trust in me always. I am the eternal Rock, your Shepherd, the Guardian of your soul. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

I will make you fruitful in the land of suffering, trading beauty for ashes, joy for mourning and praise for despair. I live with the low spirited and spirit crushed. I put a new spirit in you and get you on your feet again. Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning. If I am for you, who can ever be against you?

You sometimes say, “The Lord has deserted me; the Lord has forgotten me.” But can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for a child she has borne? Even if that were possible I would not forget you! I paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, my sinless, spotless Lamb. No one will snatch you away from me. See, I have written your name on my hand. I call you my friend. Why, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are valuable to me.

Give me your burdens; I will take care of you. I know how weak you are, that you are made of dust. Give all your worries and cares to me, because I care about what happens to you.

Remember, I am at hand. Come to me when you are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. I delight in you, and I can be trusted to keep my promises.

HERE I AM

“May the will of the Lord be done”

Amen

I AM
