Keys to a burning
Acts 19: 19 “A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.”
They burned their livelihoods. Career changes are sometimes still necessary for a change of life.
They burned their past so that they could not return. If it is too easy to go back to what you left then you haven’t left enough.
They burned them and everyone saw it, they went public. The more who know you are changing the more you will work hard to change.
They burned their futures, 1 drachma was worth 1 day’s wages, there were 50,000 drachmas. You can only let go of what is of most valuable if you have found Him who is of ultimate value, Jesus.
They burned them together. Moving forward, changing your life, is easier if you do it with others in order to be accountable.
