Discipleship is allowing Jesus to sleep.

Faith isn’t moving every mountain before us.

“Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” (Matthew 8 v 23-27)

5 aspects of faith.

  1. Don’t mirror the storm.
  2. If waves are coming over you and your boat then they are coming over your Saviour also.
  3. Jesus sleeps so that we can say “I will do what I think I need you to do and I will be what I think I need you to be.”
  4. Remaining still, silent and calm in a storm is a decision.
  5. Bring prepared to capsize with the Lord of the Resurrection is the best example of faith.
