The Queen has gone through the open door and so will we: The revelation of and from Jesus Christ.

Our world wakes this morning and though expected nevertheless we grieve for the loss of our Queen.

“Jesus Christ lived obscurely for most of his life, and never travelled far. He was maligned and rejected by many, though he had done no wrong. And yet, billions of people now follow his teaching and find in him the guiding light for their lives. I am one of them because Christ’s example helps me see the value of doing small things with great love

Queen Elizabeth 2016 Christmas Speech

As a follower of Jesus we know the Queen is with Him now.

“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” (Revelation 3: 7-8)

The context is that the followers of Jesus were being excluded from their Jewish heritage of worshipping in the synagogues. Jesus welcomes them into His household. Only God is holy and true and Jesus says this is who He is and He holds the key of David.

Isaiah prophesied of Eliakim, the finance minister for King Hezekiah and responsible for the doors of the Temple. The wording is the same as what Jesus says to the Church of Philadelphia: “I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open” (Isaiah 22 v 22).

The connection is this: Jesus is the key and He is the King and He opens the door for all of His followers to enter in. It is salvation through Jesus and by Jesus. It is for us and it was for our Queen yesterday. She is in the house of God today.
