Do you feel far from God today? Sometimes this isn’t because it is your fault, but because the enemy is simply trying to distract you from a curtain that has been opened.
Here it is.
“Set up the tabernacle according to the plan shown you on the mountain. 31 “Make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker. 32 Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases. 33 Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. 34 Put the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law in the Most Holy Place. 35 Place the table outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand opposite it on the south side. 36 “For the entrance to the tent make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer. 37 Make gold hooks for this curtain and five posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold. And cast five bronze bases for them.” (Exodus 26 v 30-37)
Through Jesus, that curtain has now been opened. If you’re struggling and feel shut out, these verses are for you.
- Moses was to build everything “according to the plan shown you on the mountain”. God has a plan for your life even when it doesn’t make sense. (v30) Moses didn’t know the whole plan, but God did.
- The curtain would keep people out of the Most Holy Place, but when Jesus died, it was torn from top to bottom. Now you don’t need to do anything but just come as you are, in the state that you are in. (v31-33)
- We come as we are? “But what about our sins and our humanity before a perfect God?” The answer has always been the mercy seat. Condemnation is not the heart of God. (v34)
- The table of bread and the lampstand stood opposite each other. In your darkest days, God still provides for you and lights your path. (v35)
Jesus came, and the curtain was torn. Amen!
Whatever you’re facing today, God is waiting for you with His merciful presence.
So come close and find in Him the rest your heart has longed for.
