Too much detail

I’ve just seen I have posted ‘Detail’ 5 times! Sorry about this! However, sometimes you need to repeat yourself for the person to fully understand you. ‘I’ve told you once and I am not going to repeat myself’ may result in you not getting what you need. There’s a lesson in everything!
From tomorrow I am overseas for 3 weeks so dependent on the Internet will determine when I can post a blog. But keep looking out as I will do my best.

Detail
Acts 10:8
“He told them everything that had happened and sent them to Joppa.”

Tell people the detail if you want them to journey for and with you.
People will work for you if they understand fully your story and why it is you are asking them for help.
Summaries are not enough.
Detail is everything.
You may by your position be able to tell people what to do. However, knowledge of why they are doing something is as important as doing it, for the why will motivate them even when it proves challenging.

When the new season comes
Acts 10:7
“When the angel who spoke to him had gone, Cornelius called two of his servants and a devout soldier who was one of his attendants.”

It is when it’s the lights have gone out that it really matters. When the voice stops and God goes quiet what happens next?
It is easy to be a follower when God is obviously with us and he is continually speaking. It is more difficult when He seems distant.
Cornelius began to do what He had been asked to do.
He chose 2 servants and one of his attendants who like Cornelius had a spiritual life trying to follow our God with a desire for Him.
Whatever God has said then at some point He is going to back off and allow you the space to do what He has said.
At that point you will need begin to make some wise choices based in what is needed to be done. God tells you what to do and you have to decide how to do it or who you will choose for your team. That’s partnership.

Thankful for now.
Acts 10:6
“He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.”
Simon Peter stayed with Simon the tanner.
This lodging place would be the preparation Peter would need as he soon would be launched into a Gentile ministry.
Everything we do is preparation for the next chapter of our life even when we do not know it. How is this so? Because God is involved in your life continually and we are part of His story.
So look around your life now. Look at the ordinary things. Maybe who you are lodging with! What could this be preparing you for? It would be impossible to know. But it does mean we can be thankful for our lives as they stand right now.
